PORTALS & TIMELESS TIME

It was 2018, then BLINK, 2024.
The world of dreams is not defined by time.

My courage to finalize and publish Modern Nomad, Into The heart of The Silk Road, Afghanistan 1977, A Photography Memoir, has landed in the perfect timeless time: NOW. My sentient experience at Delphi in 2018 recently began speak to me in dreams, and I realized that they held the key to bringing my story home. A waft of laurel leaves entered my dream and drew me back into the council I had with the Oracle of Delphi when I traveled to Greece in 2018.

It was Gaia’s voice I now heard in my dream. With a gentle whisper she was reminding me of the profound message I had first received from the Oracle which then became even more vast, more brilliant.

On my great pilgrimage to Delphi I was deeply contemplating what question I would ask the Oracle when standing in front of this sacred, ancient monument as thousands had done over the centuries. I became completely silent and centered myself to defray any distractions from inside or out. It was just before we finally arrived at Delphi when my poignant question for the Oracle echoed within me. After cleansing my face in the Castalian Spring, as was the tradition, I hiked up the great stones to finally stand in front of the Temple of Apollo and breathed deeply, reaching my hands out in submission to the great Oracle with my question: What is my greater purpose for sharing my photographs and epic journey to Afghanistan in a time of peace?

A resounding message immediately echoed back to me: You’ve been here before and you know the answer. There are no Disguises in Authenticity. It was utterly profound. I understood my higher purpose of inspiring deeper understanding of humanity and all cultures. I resonated with joy and amazement, then felt myself being transported back to an ancient time when I was standing on that very spot in front of the oracle. I had been there before.

Everything changed from then on.

Back in the present, I energetically began “painting with words” (my writing style as a visual person) to share all my wonderful stories of beautiful people in the once mysterious land I had been sent to witness and record for deeper understanding. The “painted story” that was revealed to me as a sacred ceremony was later titled “Seeking the Oracle.” In it, I shared that I had learned that my true purpose of traveling to Afghanistan was to become an emissary of light for the Afghan people and open the hearts and minds of everyone with my wonderful photographs and stories from a time of peace in 1977. Recording and honoring their culture will serve to create a greater understanding of humanity. I took a deep breath with the realization that the higher purpose of the distant journey I’d been “sent on” also came to me through dreams. From the ancient to the present: Divine Time.

It was clear to me that I was not living in linear time. The present merged with the past and became something new. I could see that, although it was six years after my journey to Delphi and 47 years after returning from Afghanistan, now is the perfect time for this great transmission to be shared with the world.

Everything was indeed in perfect alignment: In January 2024, the distinguished writer and researcher of ancient civilizations and world adventure leader to sacred sites, Freddy Silva, was having his most personal book published by Common Sentience and Sacred Stories. It was titled PORTALS, Energetic Doorways to Mystical Experience Between Worlds. In the announcement of the forthcoming book, the publishers said they would be accepting submissions by others who also had mystical experiences in an ancient sacred monument, a portal. My spine tingled with the synchronicity of my recent Delphi dreams that had so profoundly spoken to me. I knew I had to share my experience. With great anticipation I finalized my story and bravely submitted “Seeking The Oracle” for review. As weeks passed, I anxiously waited to hear. Making submissions as “a writer” was a new experience for me since Photography was my main mantle. Finally, a month later, the announcement came and I was overwhelmed, honored, and joyously surprised that my Delphi experience with the great Oracle was accepted!

What a privilege it is to be a part of this amazing book by the renowned Freddy Silva and a publishing company whose goal is to bring Divine wisdom into the mainstream. I shall ever be grateful for all. And, this was the HUGE boost I needed to finalize the epic story of my journey into the “Heart of The Silk Road” during a great time of culture and peace in Afghanistan. I truly understand the vital importance of sharing my stories and photographs NOW. This IS the year to share with the world, and I know it is desperately needed. The world needs to see this country and people of Afghanistan in a time of peace before the darkness of war and repression. It’s a country with a beautiful cultural background that has to be understood in order to help. This is my “Gift of History.” I know that in being a part of Freddy’s wonderful PORTALS stories, this positive view will be seen far and wide. The Universe is working her magic.
